1st Birthday Party
A child’s first birthday
party usually doesn’t involve
anybody outside of the family.
However, if you have any friends
whom have kids that regularly
play with your child then you
might want to schedule a birthday
play date with them along with
some nearby family members.
A child’s first birthday
usually doesn’t involve
a theme but if you wish to involve
one, then perhaps the theme could
be the number one itself. Another
idea is to choose one of the child’s
favorite toys to use as a theme.
Choose a location that is comfortable
and familiar to your child to
celebrate their birthday at. Some
of these places might include
your own home, a park or playground
or family members home where your
child may have spent a lot of
time.
One year olds are really not
up for all day parties so it’s
a good idea to keep it short.
Just a couple of hours should
fine. Most people find that morning
parties are best for one year
olds because this is usually when
they are at their best behavior.
First Birthday Party Invitations
A child’s first birthday
party invitation should not have
to be too elaborate or expensive
for that matter. You can purchase
these birthday invitations or
simply make them on your own.
One good idea is to cut paper
into the shape of a big number
one, cut out and paste a small
photo to the card and tape a birthday
candle to it. Write “Look
Who’s Turning 1!”
on the card along with the date,
time and location on the back.
Simple and affordable.
A 1st Birthday Indoor Party
Decorations
First Birthday party decorations
can be as simple as cutting out
different sized and multiple colored
number ones and hanging them around
the room. A few stuffed dolls
around the room make for a play
full environment for the child
or other children who have come
to the party. You can hand a streamer
or banner that says “Happy
1st Birthday” and then have
each guest sign it as memorabilia
for the child’s future memories.
First Birthday Fun And Games
For a child’s first birthday,
fun and games does not have to
be ruled out. Children love attention
and a great way to give them that
at this age is to sit with them
and read to them a new children’s
book.
You can also have a pull string
piñata made instead of
the typical piñatas that
involve swinging a stick. Imagine
the look on a one year old’s
face as a bunch of candy comes
falling out of what appears to
be a toy as they pull the string.
If multiple children are available,
you can have them all sit in a
big circle and roll a ball back
and forth. Or you can simply have
a ‘free play’ area
where they can play and have fun.
Other ideas include wagon rides,
play houses made of boxes or finger
painting.
