Birthday Party Games
Children don’t want to
just eat cake and ice cream at
a birthday party. They can always
do that while sitting at home.
Classic party games are always
a favorite when looking to keep
the kids well entertained. Here
are a few games that young children
will enjoy.
Pin The Tail On The Donkey
Here is a classical game that
has been enjoyed for years. First
hang a picture of a donkey on
the wall (or draw one) but leave
the tail missing. Then have each
child spin around a few times
and then try to pin a piece of
string to the tail end of the
donkey while blindfolded. The
child who comes the closest to
pinning the tail on the donkey’s
rear correctly wins a prize.
If younger children are involved,
it might be a good idea to use
tape or putty as apposed to a
pin or tack like the traditional
version requires. You can also
substitute a donkey with other
animals with tails. You can even
play ‘Pin the trunk on the
elephant’.
Musical Chairs
What is a birthday party without
a good fun game of musical chairs?
This is a heart-thumping game
that involves nothing more than
a few chairs and some music. How
ever many people are playing,
set out that many chairs minus
one. Then have each child walk
around the chairs while the music
is playing. When the music stops,
each child tries to take a seat.
The child that doesn’t have
a seat to sit in is out of that
round. Remove one chair and then
go again. At the end, only one
child should be left in a chair.
He or she is the winner.
A Treasure Hunt
Before the game is played, hide
some prizes around the house or
yard. Give each child a bag and
allow them to look all over the
place for all the hidden items.
The child who finds the most items
wins the game. A time should be
set for when the game ends because
it is often impossible to know
when all of the items have been
discovered. |
