Birthday
Party Locations
During warm weather, outdoors
is the perfect location for a
birthday party. Other than the
weather, the atmosphere alone
can make the party that much more
enjoyable. Of course when throwing
an outdoor party, you should follow
a few simple guidelines.
- Be sure to
have an alternative prepared.
In the case of bad weather,
it would be best to know you
have an alternative indoor location
planned rather than ruin the
party altogether.
- Be sure you
have a first-aid kit on hand
at the birthday party. Don’t
forget about the sun and insects
either. It’s a good idea
to keep sunscreen and bug repellant
on hand.
- Bring drinks
that correspond to the plans
of the party. In other words,
if you are planning on having
a lot of activity taking place,
be sure to bring plenty of drinks
and even a water cooler too.
Finding The Location
In order to find the best location
for your birthday party, start
with the phone book. Find the
party section of the yellow pages
and you notice that it is divided
into more section like party planners
and party centers. Most yellow
pages will have notes in the party
section if additional locations
are listed elsewhere in the book.
You can also find party locations
from time to time by looking in
your local newspaper or business
listings. Often, locations and
businesses are listed in the newspaper
because hey are new and have not
yet been listed in the phonebooks.
This is also a great way to find
low cost party locations due to
the fact that many places simple
prefer the lower cost of listing
in the paper as apposed to the
yellow pages. A company that is
on a budget minded usually means
lower prices for you as well.
Whether you find something in
the phone book or not, another
idea is to call some local restaurants
to see if they rent out party
rooms for birthday parties. Some
of your local fast food chains
even have play areas for kids
and love to accommodate people
when it comes to large or small
parties. Private rooms are also
available in many smaller restaurants
and diners.
The Alternative
Always prepare for the alternative
in case the weather is not permitting
for a birthday party. Keep an
indoor location in mind preferable
near the original location so
plans do not have to involve too
much alternative travel. If you
can not have an alternative that
is near the original location,
be sure to have the ‘Plan
B’ instructions included
in the invitations.
The Indoor Party Place
A lot of things are usually going
through your mind when selecting
and indoor birthday party location
for the first time. First you
have to narrow it down to a single
location from a list of possibilities.
The following are a few guidelines
to help this project to go much
smoother.
• Visit
each location in person to see
what the place is like. Is the
staff friendly and courteous?
Is the space large enough for
the amount of guests hat you are
expecting?
• Check on available dates
at the party locations to see
if they have space available at
the time you are planning on having
the party.
• Find out of they provide
cake for the birthday party or
if you have to obtain this on
your own.
• Be sure that you have
plenty of time available for the
guests to enjoy themselves rather
than feeling like they are being
rushed.
