Kids Birthday Gift Ideas
If you are planning on having
a birthday party and your child
is inviting a lot of kids from
school, this may leave you at
a bit of a disadvantage when coming
up with some birthday gift ideas.
The following may prove to be
very helpful when deciding upon
gifts for children of all ages.
Birthday Gifts For Toddlers
And Babies (1 & 2)
Toddlers and babies are still
looking to explore. Most parents
feel as though they are not entertaining
their children by buying educational
items as apposed to just fun and
colorful toys. This can not be
further from the truth. Children
of this seek out to explore and
learn because the world is still
so brand new to them. Educational
toys like flash cards, board books
and soft blocks are always entertaining
to them. Look for education items
that consist of bright colors
and movable parts to peek their
interest even more. Fun and games
outside of the range of education
is great too but it’s better
to limit those types of items
to focus on things that a child
usually takes no interest in like
bath time.
Birthday Gifts For Preschoolers
(3 & 4)
Once your child turns three years
old, the gift giving process becomes
a lot more enjoyable for several
reasons. Among those reasons is
the fact that small parts are
no longer an issue. This will
allow your range of choices to
expand greatly now. Another reason
is because your child is starting
to show an interest in particular
things that will help you when
it comes to finding items that
you know they will enjoy. Try
getting your child some board
games. Now is the perfect age
for children to start playing
with other children and learning
to follow rules. Not only will
they have fun but they will be
learning something in the process.
Test their minds by getting them
puzzles, building blocks and art
supplies.
This is also the age of make
believe. Great birthday gift ideas
would include anything that may
assist them in that area like
dress up clothing and shoes for
the girls or play tools for the
boys. Sometime boys like to play
dress up too, so you might want
to include some superhero outfits
for them as well.
Birthday Gift Ideas For Young
Children (5 to 8)
Children at this age are ready
to express their creativity. A
great gift idea would be to buy
art supplies to fill that void.
Art supplies can consist of the
usual paints and stencils but
don’t forget that coloring
books also fall in this category.
Your children are also just beginning
to read so another idea is children’s
books for this age group. Kids
can also play and learn at the
same time by giving them educational
toys that talk like globes or
Atlases (maps).
Birthday Gift Ideas For Older
Children (9 to 12)
There is a large range of ideas
for giving gifts to children around
this age like popular Harry Potter
books or diaries and journals
for them to write in. Children
who are still taking a huge interest
in art, try moving them up to
some more advanced art materials
such as an easel, canvass boards
and oil paints. Or perhaps they
take an interest in some other
forms of art like wood burning,
carving or working with clay.
If your child loves to have sleepovers
and the budget allows it, buy
them a new bunk bed. On a lower
budget some sleeping bags would
be a great idea as well as some
games for the kids to play. Maybe
a tent for the back yard or a
pool to play in on those hot summer
afternoons.
By this age, you should already
be aware of what your child takes
an interest in pertaining to movies,
movie characters, sports, etc.
Try to by gifts that involve these
interests but do not over due
it. Most children love a good
variety of things they already
take an interest in to things
that they have yet to explore.
