Miscellaneous Birthday Supplies
Preparing for a birthday party
involves much more than simply
birthday gifts and party decorations.
It’s always a good idea
to make sure you are prepared
for every aspect of the party
from the obvious to the most commonly
forgotten items.
The Dining Area
When buying your supplies for
the dinning area you should consider
whether you want to go for convenience
or image. If you are wanting to
make things much easier in the
long run, get disposable dishes
and table cloths. This will make
cleaning up a snap. Other than
the obvious birthday cake, don’t
forget the candles and matches.
For The Gift Opening
Be sure to have enough trash
bags on hand in this area to accommodate
for all the gift wrapping that
will be lying around. You should
also have a pair of scissors nearby
for those stubborn packages that
are always so difficult to open
by hand. If any of the gifts require
batteries, you will fee better
knowing that they are at the ready
as well.
For Games And Activities
Depending on what your games
or activities are going to be,
these should be ready to go in
this area. But one thing that
is often overlooked is a good
first aid kit if your games or
activities involve children running
and playing. A lot of parents
have trusted you with their kids
at this time and you don’t
want to send them home with cuts
and bruises that appear to be
unattended to. Accidents happen
but you don’t want to neglect
or ignore them.
Emergency Preparations
Just like in the games and activities
area, first aid is not a necessity
insomuch as it is your responsibility.
If you are being trusted to a
bunch of children in your home
then you should be sure to have
emergency preparations ready.
This not only includes the first
aid kit but parent phone numbers
and addresses as well. If a major
emergency is to happen, you want
to be able to notify them at once.
Always make sure that another
adult is present at the party
as well in case a situation would
arise that involves having to
take a child to the hospital.
You do not want to have to take
them all with you if this happens.
If you do not know all of the
children’s names, make nametags
for them to wear. This will avoid
confusion if time comes that you
need to contact a parent in an
emergency.
