Planning A Birthday Party
For most people, planning a birthday party comes fairly simple because they
tend to stay with the same typical
theme from year to year. However,
for those whom wish to mix things
up a bit, planning a birthday
party from start to finish can
be a tedious task. We are hoping
that the following information
may make this process go much
smoother the next time you have
to plan a birthday party.
Three to four weeks before your
party, you want to start making
out your guest list. While doing
this, remember to keep you budget
in mind. Take into consideration
how many party guests will be
at the party when deciding upon
what supplies you will need to
stock up on. Selecting a Birthday
Theme this early in the process
will also assist you in making
decisions on what kind of items
you need to order and where the
Birthday Party will be taking
place. If your Party is scheduled
to take place at location where
reservations must be made, this
would be a good time to get that
out of the way. Don’t forget
to plan your party’s games
and activities at this time. If
you wait to decide on the games
and Birthday party activities,
this might result in you having
to buy last minute supplies. Once
you have decided on the perfect
Party Invitations, send them out
right away.
Two to three weeks before the
party, go over your supply list
and make sure that you have everything
including party favors, games,
balloons, decorations and movies.
Be sure to have your RSVP list
next to the phone at all times
in case people start to call.
It’s a good idea to enlist
a few party helpers this early
too.
One week before the birthday party
order the cake and non-perishable
and freezable party food and drinks.
Don’t forget the candles
and any batteries you might need
for your camera(s) and gifts that
require them. Take the time to
schedule activities for your party
theme that you may have put off
until now. If anyone whom you
sent an invitation to has not
called, take the time to call
them in order to see if they are
coming to the party. Get heavy
cleaning out of the way.
Two days before the party clean
the party area, buy extra trash
bags, foil and plastic wrap and
make extra space in the fridge.
Call and confirm any entertainment
or reservations that have been
made. Defrost any frozen foods
that need to be ready for the
birthday party and, set out the
party favors and get them ready.
One day before the party you should
buy any floral arrangements. By
doing this too soon, you may have
dying flowers by the time the
party begins. Do your last minute
cleaning around the party area(s).
It’s best to do this late
in the day as to be sure that
the party area is as clean as
possible come time to begin. If
you are planning on picking up
the Birthday cake ahead of time,
this would be a good day to do
that. Don’t forget to pick
up the birthday cake and decorate
the party areas.
